All over the grid preparations are being made for Halloween Month.
Also in my cinema branches BIRDLIGHTS & BIRDOLUMOJ you may enjoy movies with goose bumps! However, this will not be limited to commercial Halloween. But I would like to introduce you to the Culture of the Afterlife from all over the world.
People with arachnophobia need have no fear. I have chased away & banished all spiders.

DeleteIn western countries, the HALLOWEEN night is celebrated from October 31st to November 1st. It is common for children to dress up as ghosts and goblins and haunt at the neighbors’ until they get sweets. People began to practice this a few years ago, much to the annoyance of the Churches. In the meantime, this custom is not so popular anymore because it has also resulted in serious damage to property. (Children don't always respect limits.)
In my eyes, HALLOWEEN is primarily of commercial importance, sadly. Parents shall buy all the joke articles for their children. Shops are full of it in October, and parents can’t resist their begging children.
Myself, I do not attach particular importance to HALLOWEEN. If kids rumble at my door, I'm not at home. Not my children, not my job.
Originally HALLOWEEN shall have the following reason: During this night we have to arm ourselves against the haunting jokes of ghosts, witches, goblins. Roots of this are unclair. It is often associated with the Irish legend of the JACK O LANTERN. But that has not been clarified properly.
With the movie selection in my cinema, I pursue the idea of connecting the WORLD OF THE LIVING with the REALM OF THE DEAD, thinking that autumn October is a matching time for this. (Not exactly a match to Halloween.) This can be romantic, exciting, tragic, funny. This idea can be found in many cultures around the world.
Current, you can watch a Western styled movie, two French movies as well. (In France, Death is female.) Also in sight are a touching movie from Mexican culture and a Voodoo classic.
Dear Mike, having talked so much, I have an idea now. If you’d like to introduce something from Russian Culture, please, let me know!

Thanks Flora! Not sure though i can introduce anything interresting you from my culture :) There are some interresting tales about Jaga (kind of witch living in the forest) and some more but it is all mainly for the children :)

ReplyDeleteI have not provided anything in the marketplace, I am sorry to say. So far, I have only made the building and the underground of my cinema. - What object did you find there?
DeleteNot market. But i was surprised to see some of the objects in the Birdlight place made by you )) i myself trying to master the 3d modelling for maybe six months already - it is really hard if you want to make sometjing worthy :P
DeleteNow I get what you mean I think. Since about 2017 I've been designing my places in this way:

(and if available, I am happy about Linden water)
with "Primitives" I create floor slabs, walls, roof slabs
(I bought textures on the marketplace)
I place furniture and plants (bought on the marketplace).
About building with primitives (incl. texturing), it took me some time to figure out the tricks. But can be fun!
Sometimes I wonder if I should buy a "Mesh-Generato" on the marketplace. That would expand the capabilities. But that is expensive. And current, I am busy with other ventures in the grid ...
DeleteAh! Well i chosen different way - i am learning Blender 3d, it is fully free and very powerful program (in one level with Autodesk Maya which is really expensive). I guess most of the modeller in SL use Blender. In fact today i have loaded the first model of a guitar as a comission for one person from Secondlife (it was not that easy to make it but really interresting :P)
