We meet in Friendshire — my 10th movie

Watch me travel through a charming region! Carefree, I board vehicle after vehicle. I meet friend after friend, each taller than the other.

Bye Nimoui — our best wishes are with you

This week, Nimoui Chenier has embarked on her next great journey.

In Second Life, she leaves Lily behind. The Ulukumbu tribe also mourns her. The Friends of Dreamshire are affected either, including myself.

Nimoui's son in real life broke the sad news to Lily yesterday, natives of Ulukumbu told me.

Nimoui had been ill for some time. She made no great secret of this. We all noticed how she remained confident and full of drive. She expected the worst, but hoped for the best and continued to care of her projects in Dreamshire.

Now we miss her. This nice person, she went peacefully, I am told. And everyone may find comfort in own faith. Among the natives of Ulukumbu it is well known that Nimoui cherishes the idea of rebirth. Even more, her son has confirmed that they both believe in reincarnation. So it would not be surprising if we meet her again at some point.

Nimoui & Lily shared a dear love. With Dreamshire, Nimoui strived to show the world what love can do. So I ask you to cherish the place love created.

The Blooming Bond — love can do magic

On May 28, 2022, Lily & Nimoui renewed their marriage vows. They had invited the public to a ceremony and dance. In the Henge of Dreamshire a fancy dance floor had been prepared. Priestess Valeriya gave the couple her heavenly blessing. Mab and Bob, the mascots of the village of Winkle, were enthroned on the altar. A host of many friends witnessed this ceremony. DJ Crim accompanied the festive event with selected romantic music. He also gladly welcomed our requests.

In 2015, Lily and Nimoui met and became a couple. In the Midnight Stars region, they founded their home and blessed it with the name: Dreamshire — the place love created.

Since then, Dreamshire keeps thriving, showing the world what love can do. This is also witnessed by an ever-growing host of nice friends. I consider myself lucky to be a member. And you are frankly invited to drop by!

Yes, it took me almost two months to finish this movie. That's the way it is when you're running a movie business alone. But I'm sure, if you like this couple, you'll like this movie, too!

Dreamshire Railway — a great little train

The group The Great Little Trains of SL unites three narrow-gauge railways and their fans. Each of them has its own environment, its own creator, its own charm. Each is crafted with love and care. — Here I introduce you Dreamshire Railway!

DECLARATION OF LOVE

Lily & Nimoui established Dreamshire 2016 in late Summer. Myself, I met this region 2016 in December. Instantly, I fell in love with the landscape & with the cosy tram. In the meantime, I got known the maintainers & inhabitants closer. This bond became my special anchor in Second Life.

My movie is not perfect, I know that. I wish you'd like it anyway. It's my somewhat awkward love letter to a wonderful shire & tram:

The Dreamshire Estate now includes two regions times two levels. Here I limit myself to Dreamshire at ground level, with its cozy country tram. In the group Friends of Dreamshire you stay up to date on changes & events. Membership is free & worthwhile!

In Dreamshire I hardly suffer any lag. Mainly, these are the reasons:
  • Nimoui & Lily pay special attention to the textures. For example, the resolutions are reduced from 1 024 to 512 before application (e.g. in Gimp).
  • Scripts are used cautiously to conserve capacity.
  • The simulator performs a relog about weekly.

Initially, Lily & Nimoui tried to run two locos on the track. But sim-relogs kept messing up the timing of the scripts. So they ended up with a single loco. Nimoui regulates the tram's script again & again. That it keeps jerking is maybe related to the fact that now 4 regions are provided on one single server. However, this has not gotten better since the grid moved to the cloud, felt rather worse.

Station WINKLE

Each spot is of own history & meaning. Changes are made gently & so retain their charm.

Winkle could be named Dreamshire's capital. The visitor center provides informations & teleport links. You even can borrow a funny vintage car!

Winkle has a lovely church with cemetery & memorial. The village square is home to a police station & a fire station, as well as a fancy steampunk pub & the entrance to the animals' sanctuary.

Next to the train station, a carriage can be borrowed for pony play. By the way, Miss Loiyan, a nice & accomplished Mistress, also lives in Dreamshire. She lives here - explicitly - privately!

The train station offers a store with simple but lovely products, which can only be found in Dreamshire. In the engine shed more locomotives can be admired. Display boards tell a lot about the real background of this narrow gauge railroad.

The railroad is the shire’s heart, I find. If you look onto the map, it runs clockwise in a snake line around the region. It stops at 5 stations, including Winkle. It currently takes about 6 minutes to go around.

Station TEMPLE

After Winkle, this is the first stop. A short stoney staircase leads down to the ruins of a temple. From here, for example, you can walk the footpath through the fairytale forest, through which the train then passes.

Oh well, from each station you can also explore the shire's interior. A garden landscape & a homey gypsy village invite role-playing. This is my hint for couples!

Station WOBBLY KNOT

A funny name, isn't it? The footpath through the fairytale forest also ends at this railroad cabin.

Here I breathe sea air for the first time. The coast guard is properly equipped & in full working order. In Winkle, I have already mentioned the police station & the fire station. Do you get? Women are strong! And do be funny, too!

Station PROMENADE

Over the sea I enjoy a wonderful view to the islands of Ulukumbu. Dance pier, restaurant, slot machines. Here I have already won cute prizes!

Station DOLPHIN BAY

Here you find the rear entrance to the animals' retreat. The animals inside are not enclosured by cages or fences, but run around freely. Please close the gate again when you go in or out!

Myself, I forgot this once. The result you can watch in my movie.

The dolphins in the Bay are protected. This means that they are not accustomed to humans. (Unless to Dreamshire's inhabitants, I think.) At least you can take the boat here & row across to the islands of Ulukumbu. I have already even swum across!

Station WINKLE again

Finally, I pay a visit to Steam Kittys, a fancy pub.

In the meantime, you can watch my movie again. Or merely drop by here!

Winter Solstice at Dreamshire Henge — Be all blessed!

Visitor Group Friends of Dreamshire
Teleport Procession to Dreamshire Henge
Priestess Julu
Priestess Jessie
Wizard of Tunes Crim

Winter solstice was celebrated in Dreamshire on December 19, 2020. Crim being the wizard of tunes delighted the colorful congregation with spiritual, contemplative & joyful music.

But before & above all, we reflected on the spiritual meaning of this sacred moment of the year. I did not dare to film the intimate opening ceremony in its entirety. But the priestesses allow me to publish their invocation here. Take their blessings!

Priestess Julu:
I light this fire in your honour
Mother Goddess.

You have created
life from death, warmth from cold.

Since the beginning of time,
we have gathered in this season
to celebrate the rebirth of the Sun.

On the Winter Solstice,
the darkest of nights,
the Goddess becomes the Great Mother
and once again gives birth to the Sun
and the new yearly cycle,
bringing new light and hope
to all on Earth.

Priestess Jessie:
On the longest night of winter,
and the dark night of our souls,

there springs the new spark of hope,

the Sacred Fire,
the Light of the World.

We gather tonight to await the new light.

On this night, the Maiden,
who is also Mother and Crone,
prepares to welcome the Sun.

Let's now prepare
to welcome the new light within.

Priestess Juu:
I take the sprig of mistletoe,
cut that day in the sacred grove,
and places it on the fire

raising her arms to invoke blessing
The Sun lives once again, the time of light is waxing.
We invite you, Great Mother, to our circle.
Bring us new light, the light of your glorious Son.

turning to the people & opening wide her arms
Come, let us dance in celebration of the Light!

Closing:
As we celebrate this holidays time
with lights, songs, gifts, evergreens,
and other folkways
of our ancestors of many lands

let us remember the ancient and sacred spirit
of Winter Solstice - that of renewal, peace,
and interconnectedness.

As the days grow longer again
and we embrace Winter
and the new Calendar year

let us kindle within ourselves
a deeper awareness
of the Divine Circle of Nature
of which we are all part.

Let us celebrate our relationships
with our families, friends,
communities, cultures,
all of Nature, and the Divine.

May we be filled
with Joy, Love, and Harmony,
and this Spirit of Yuletide shine
within and around us
throughout the year,
as the Wheel of the Seasons
continues to turn.

Blessed Be!

Good Yule! Merry Solstice!

movie star — classic car Karina greets Dreamshire

classic car Karina (rezz box version)
manufactured & sold by Babilonto Karu

Dreamshire Estate (Welcome Area)
owned & maintained by Nimoui & Lily Chenier

On the island of Dreamshire I drive classic car & take my driving test. Also I produce my 1st movie. How did this happen?

Babilonto, a friend of mine, has built an oldtimer. The model is called Karina. He parks the prototype in front of my cinema branch BIRDOLUMOJ on Auroro with the request to just try it out.

classic car Karina – prototype on Auroro

Now vehicles in Second Life are new territory for me. But after my first driving lesson I am so delighted that he immediately adds it to his shop range. So Karina gets available on the marketplace in different colors, also along with a rezzbox.

Karina ✿ a fancy classic car!

Already some weeks ago Nimoui & Lily Chenier announced in their landgroup that their island Dreamshire will celebrate its Fourth Anniversary in September 2020.

Happy Birthday ✿ Dreamshire!

Instantly I thought that Karina would be a wonderful match for this lovely island! So I gave the vehicle to Nimoui & Lily as a gift, along with the rezzbox. They tried out the vehicle on their island. And they were so enthusiastic that they installed the rezzbox even twice on their estate.

Visitors can now borrow a vehicle & drive around with it: here on Dreamshire Island (ground level) & here in Dreamshire City (sky level). Take your loved one by the hand & on a romantic classic car ride!

classic car Karina – rezzbox on Dreamshire Island (ground level)

classic car Karina – rezzbox in Dreamshire City (sky level)

When you touch the rezzbox, a menu appears in the viewer. You can choose of 3 colors: red – blue – black. (Black is actually precious wood.) Then the vehicle appears from nowhere. Its wheels are not simply made of rotating textures, but of real spokes. Chassis & body are a feast for the eyes!

When you now touch the vehicle, its doors open. In the rear there is space for driver & one passenger. When you take seat inside, a funny horn sounds & the engine starts. Close the doors & drive off: Just like old times! Direction & speed are controlled with the arrow keys on the keyboard. Even myself can do!

But this is now also my first attempt to shoot a movie in Second Life. Concerning my movie's quality I ask you for your indulgence:

Nimoui points out that visitors can sink the red bollards. One of them I show on last picture: Just touch! It sinks into the ground with a rich sound & gives way for car. From the dead end you'll then have to come back somehow.

It takes a few moments before Karina disintegrates. So if you get out by mistake, you still have time to get back in. Her fuel is theoretically enough until next restart of the simulation – if you don't fall asleep before ...

calendar entry — Leggers & Tails in the Oasis temple

In the Second Life there are some dance & music events I like to join in. A few of them I am putting into my calendar and introduce to you. They meet regularly. Music and atmosphere are teasing. I meet nice people there, even new friends. — Take a try!

Teleport to Oasis (Dreamshire City)
Club Party Leggers & Tails hosted by Joyce Travels
DJane Martina Singh
on Wednesdays at 1 PM (SLT)

The oriental temple Oasis is located in Dreamshire City in the upper level. By the way, dance balls on Dreamshire Estate contain liquid dance animations of high quality. That makes fun!

There is no dresscode for this party. Sexually accentuated appearance or behavior will certainly result in warning.

DJane Martina sets up her equipment & installs the music. Do you see the thick glowing headphones? You can't escape her beats! Via Voice, she welcomes arriving guests again & again. Who arrives fresh, feels instantly welcome. None regrets that!

Joyce tells me, the party's name Leggers & Tails originally adresses steampunk people (leggers) & merfolks (tails). Also pirates & natives join in. Wonderfully mixed people here!

Hot club music drives the dancers. In general, the joy of life here is contagious. Too bad I can't stay that long, in the middle of the week. But I always come back here!

calendar entry — belly dancing on Ulukumbu

In the Second Life there are some dance & music events I like to join in. A few of them I am putting into my calendar and introduce to you. They meet regularly. Music and atmosphere are teasing. I meet nice people there, even new friends. — Take a try!

Teleport to Ulukumbu
Visitor Group Friends of Dreamshire
event managed by Juluyeta
DJ Crim

The island Ulukumbu is roleplay territory. Unfriendly visitors rather take care not to end up in the saucepan! Juluyeta is the tribe's Kumlalu. So-called civilized people may translate Kumlalu as spirit talker. Easily said, Juluyeta is the Ulukumbu's chieftess.

Juluyeta manages belly dancing on Saturdays at noon (slt). There is no dresscode, dance silk is welcomed. (Of course, pubic area is to be covered.)

With a howl the Ulukumbu greet each other and friends. Their zest for life is contageous! DJ Crim lets records sound, Oriental, Irish, Celtic. He is armed with vintage loudspeakers and welcomes requests as well. His bouncing sheep inviting to touch collects tips.

The colorful costumes and the lively music take me flying. Do not get me back!

Dreamshire — Winkle Village in Winter

Read also Dreamshire — my first choice in the Second Life

Teleport to Dreamshire
owned, managed, created by
Nimoui & Lily Chenier
Visitor Group Friends of Dreamshire

Winter has arrived to Winkle on Dreamshire. Recently I have heard that snow and ice now cover my favourite village. Reason enough to pay it a visit again!

From the landing point it takes a few steps down to the idyllic village square. I cannot miss this.

Nimoui and Lily have hired a nutcracker combo, which greets me with carols. They play heartwarming, even a bit wooden. Anyway, I'm delighted!

Tasty roasted chestnuts: Can I offer you some?

I take a seat or watch the boy play the ball. Something is going on here!

Near the square, Nimoui and Lily have created a cosy little park. Of course, its area is covered with ice now. Right behind the entrance, there are ice skates for free!

Oh dear, I still have to train a lot!

Activity and fresh air have been good for me. To warm up, I pay a visit to the Steam Kittys right next. At the entrance I give a donation. Inside the cosy pub, I treat myself to a hot chocolate.

Sure, I will be back soon. Will you accompany me?

Ulukumbu — belly dance on Saturday

Since recently, Nimoui and Lily Chenier hold a belly dance event. It takes place on Ulukumbu, a new island west of Dreamshire. Some weeks ago Ulukumbu has emerged from the sea and is now linked with Dreamshire. Certainly, I will report on this extension!

Belly dance meets every Saturday at 12:00 SLT (21:00 UTC+2). It is announced in the group Friends of Dreamshire.

Yesterday I have been there again. This time I have appeared as Indian squaw. We have been about ten people. Even friends I have met. ♫ Happy mood with nice people with swinging music!

Dreamshire — my first choice in the Second Life

Already for a long time Dreamshire is my favourite place. I took these photos on various excursions. This island is run by Nimoui and Lily Chenier. A female couple who have found each other, indeed! They name themselves Dreamshire The place love created. This is not said too much!
At the landing point you can receive informations. Also the latest volume SL Connoisseur. The membership in the group Friends of Dreamshire is not requested. I wear myself the tag to salute merely to their creativity.

Just arrived, I enjoy the view of Winkle Village and its train station.

I like to lead my friends to Dreamshire. The Steam Kittys is a posh steampunk café.

There is even a police station. Inside they have placed a basket for Kirby Morpork, an honest German Shepherd. Kirby always greets me gladly and likes to convoy me on my walks. Once he even has saved my life, when I was a bit careless at the rails.

They recently established a fire patrol here. I wonder if a fire helmet would suit me.

The Dark Dreams House looks posh inside. This shall be my next challenge.

One should also go to church.

The cozy railway is the heart of this island. It drives regularly, and it stops at the main stations. Or I walk within a lovely landscape. This way I sample inspiration for my own garden.

On the west coast you also find a holiday promenade with funny attractions.

Sure you take better photos than me. — I would like to meet you there!
