Valkyrie Transport — a great little train

The group The Great Little Trains of SL unites three narrow-gauge railways and their fans. Each of them has its own environment, its own creator, its own charm. Each is crafted with love and care. — Here I introduce you Valkyrie Transport!

Part of group The Great Little Trains of SL

The Lexicolo region is run by 3 people. - NightShade Fugu creates the textures & the meshings. - Janet Rossini writes the scripts. – Dizzi Sternberg is the idea generator & composes the arrangement. - Their jobs can vary. Since Dizzi rezzes the finished parts, you can read only her name everywhere. But she expressly points out to me that they work here as team!

This Trio, they are brimming with creativity. Therefore, there is a lot to discover in their region. For example, on roof terrace you can enter a guided balloon tour. Taking the stairs, you can step down into Dizzi World. There you can get teleport marks to some other attractions & experiences on ground  & sky levels. While I'm talking to Dizzi, she is testing a new Alpine train at sky level. They are living here for about 13 years. Dizzi estimates that they currently have at least 30 attractions running in Lexicolo. That is beyond any Baedeker!

In this report I confine myself to the trains’ network at ground level. It is called Valkyrie Transport. The landing point is located on the roof terrace of the Main Depot. Down the stairs, I reach the gates.

This board gives away a set of steampunk hats in 4 fahionable colours. I put on the red one. Now I can't be missed anymore!

Coloured arrows move on this board. They indicate each train's movement. Each one 's worth a ride!

The turntable keeps order on rails. Spellbound, I admire the cars. They are excellently meshed & their textures are intensely glowing. This award goes to NightShade!

Signals & switches & barriers work reliably. Elephants of course have right of way!

This car is named Gullinbursti. Its rich golden tone is a feast for the eyes!

named after the golden battle-boar owned by the Norse God Frej

Next model is a Steampunk Streetcar. As a German, I learn here that streetcar is the American term for Tram. It is steam powered. Fascinated, I watch all its moving parts.

The Double Fairlie locomotive Merddin Emrys is a technical masterpiece. It consists of 14 moving parts. The valvegears move precisely. In the curves they stay true to gauge on the tracks!

No matter how steep & narrow the gradients & curves are, a true Double Fairlie can handle them!

How is that possible? - Years ago Janet Rossini wrote one of the first scripts ever for to make an object running & turning smoothly in the grid. This script now runs in almost everything that moves in this region. Even in horseback riding & walking excursions.

This scripting is Janet's life's work. I'm recommending her for the Award of Grid Merit!

In this Region, there are some other locomotives & cars to discover. You have to see for yourself!

Gosh, here I meet Richard Trevithick’s brave 1802 locomotive Pen-y-Darren. Here she has been carefully restored & tirelessly she carries out her work!

Here I must investigate closer! The crane picks up wooden boxes & puts them onto the flat waggons. In the rear, a tipper gets lifted & dumps coal onto the tipper trucks. Hopefully, not my suit gets coaled!

Fully loaded, the Pen-y-Darren leaves the Main Depot, travels among a hilly meadow landscape & reaches the Power Station. There the gate opens, the train enters backwards & is unloaded inside.

What do you suppose the contents of these boxes are? I have heard a rumor about a secret laboratory beneath the Power Station. It is electrified, by the way. When I walk into that fence, I glow & smoke like a sparkler!

The single cars run there & back. Turntables change their directions. Locos with waggons travel snakewise over meadows & hills. In between they stop for some minutes at Hobi House so that the coal train can supply the Power Station. This region never sleeps!

Rowland Emett's fairytale tram, my favorite! Which one is yours?

    1. Hello, Mike, good to read you!
VALKYRIE TRANSPORT is 1 of 3 railways in the group THE GREAT LITTLE TRAINS OF SL. Each railway is different. Each is great in own way. The different owners are friended and support each other.
My cinema BIRDLIGHTS is placed next to THE ZANY ZEN RAILWAY, also member in that group.

    3. There is much more to discover in the Lexicolo region! On the roof terrace you could rezz a balloon tour. In the Local Chat you will then get a small overview. Or you can walk down the stairs to Dizzi World. In the main hall (unfortunately not easy to find) you can then choose from a whole range of experiences. I myself started there to follow a legend of the Nordic saga world. They have arranged that very well!
